Last updated: 14 September 2026

Alteturn respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through alteturn.com, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices available to you.

1. Who we are

Alteturn provides reflective coaching and related content for people navigating changes in life and leadership.

For questions about this Privacy Policy or the way your personal information is handled, please contact:

Alteturn
Email: info@alteturn.com

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

When you complete the “Begin a Conversation” form, contact us directly, or enquire about coaching, you may provide:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • your current role or life context;
  • information about what brings you to Alteturn;
  • what you hope a conversation may help you understand;
  • how you would prefer to begin;
  • your optional preference regarding whether faith should form part of the conversation; and
  • any other information you choose to include in your message.

Please share only information that is relevant to your enquiry. You are not required to provide detailed medical, financial, legal, employment, or other highly sensitive personal information through the website.

Optional faith information

The form allows you to indicate whether you would welcome faith as part of a conversation. This question is optional.

Your response will only be used to understand how you would prefer the conversation to be approached. It will not be used for advertising, profiling, or deciding whether you are eligible for coaching.

Where applicable law treats religious or philosophical beliefs as sensitive personal information, Alteturn will process this information only with your explicit consent. You may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the website, limited technical information may be collected automatically, such as:

  • your IP address;
  • browser and device type;
  • date and time of access;
  • pages visited;
  • referring website; and
  • cookie or similar technical information.

This information may be collected by the website’s hosting provider, security services, WordPress, essential plugins, or analytics services used by Alteturn.

3. How we use your information

We may use personal information to:

  • read and respond to your enquiry;
  • arrange a Discovery Conversation;
  • understand whether Alteturn coaching may be appropriate for you;
  • tailor the tone and context of an initial conversation to your stated preferences;
  • provide coaching or related services you request;
  • maintain necessary correspondence and administrative records;
  • operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website;
  • prevent spam, misuse, or fraudulent activity; and
  • meet legal, regulatory, accounting, or professional obligations.

We will not use the information submitted through a coaching enquiry to send unrelated marketing unless you have separately agreed to receive it.

4. Our basis for using your information

Depending on where you live and the applicable law, we may process your information because:

  • you have asked us to take steps before beginning a coaching relationship;
  • it is necessary to provide a service you have requested;
  • you have given your consent;
  • we have a legitimate need to respond to enquiries, administer our work, and keep the website secure; or
  • we must comply with a legal obligation.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal will not affect processing that took place before consent was withdrawn.

5. Confidentiality and coaching

Information shared through the website or during an introductory conversation will be treated with care and confidentiality.

However, website forms and ordinary email should not be treated as emergency, medical, therapeutic, or crisis-support channels. Alteturn coaching is not a substitute for medical care, psychotherapy, legal advice, financial advice, or emergency assistance.

If a coaching relationship begins, additional terms or confidentiality arrangements may be provided separately.

6. When information may be shared

Alteturn does not sell or rent your personal information.

Information may be shared only when reasonably necessary with service providers that help operate the website and communicate with you, such as:

  • website hosting and maintenance providers;
  • form-processing or spam-prevention services;
  • email and scheduling providers;
  • secure data-storage services;
  • analytics providers, if used; and
  • professional advisers where reasonably necessary.

These providers may process information only for the services they provide to Alteturn and should protect it appropriately.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect legal rights or safety, or in connection with a legitimate business reorganisation.

7. International processing

Some website, email, hosting, or technology providers may process information in countries or regions other than your own.

Where required, Alteturn will take reasonable steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards apply to international transfers of personal information.

8. How long we retain information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

As a general approach:

  • enquiries that do not lead to further conversations will normally be deleted within 12 months;
  • coaching correspondence and brief session notes will normally be retained for the duration of the coaching relationship and for two years afterward;
  • contracts, consent records, invoices, and other records required for legal, tax, or accounting purposes may be retained for up to seven years, or longer where required by applicable law;
  • optional faith-preference information will be deleted when it is no longer needed or when consent is withdrawn, unless retention is legally required; and
  • technical and security records may be retained for shorter or longer periods where reasonably necessary to protect the website.

Information may be retained longer where required by law or reasonably needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

9. How we protect information

Alteturn takes reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

No website, email service, or online transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please consider this when deciding what information to submit online.

10. Cookies

The website may use essential cookies required for functions such as security, page operation, form processing, and administrator login.

If non-essential analytics, advertising, or marketing cookies are introduced, visitors will be provided with appropriate information and choices where required by law.

You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect how parts of the website operate.

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have the right to:

  • ask whether Alteturn holds personal information about you;
  • request access to that information;
  • ask for inaccurate information to be corrected;
  • request deletion of information;
  • object to or restrict certain uses;
  • withdraw consent;

Alteturn’s website and coaching services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the website.

If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so that appropriate action can be taken.
